Site Representatives shall:
1. Attend all meetings of the Representative Council or send an elected alternate;
2. Conduct constant and ongoing liaison between the Representative Council and the Active members of the site;
3. Serve as the official channel through which written communications and publications can be easily and quickly transmitted between the Association and the members;
4. Represent the views and input of the active membership of the faculty in votes taken in the Representative Council, conducting frequent and regular polls of such membership for this purpose; and
5. Perform such additional duties as prescribed by the Executive Board which may include, but is not limited to:
a. Attendance at meetings of the school board.
b. Hold site level and Association elections.
c. Maintain a site contact list with home emails/phone numbers.
d. Conduct regular site meetings and/or send regular updates of Association business.
6. A Site Representative may not conduct an election in which he/she is a candidate including elections for Site Representative.
Expectations for fulfilling duties:
- Hold a 10 minute meeting at school site after each Rep. Council to update membership on Rep Council decisions;
- Communicate individual and site concerns/issues to SVEA leadership
Attend SVEA and/or CTA trainings; - Participate in political action activities (PAC activities such as phone banks and/or precinct walks);
- Post all SVEA communications at site ;
- Sign in at every meeting to verify attendance;
- At the end of the semester, sign to verify number of meetings attended for payment;
- Attend and actively participate in Rep. Council meetings from beginning to end;
- Hold SVEA/CTA/NEA elections
Term of office: One (1) year
